Bundesliga Review: Bayern Edge Closer To Title With Dortmund Thrashing

Bayern Munich have moved closer to retaining their German Bundesliga title after they thrashed Borussia Dortmund 6-0 at home in a Matchday 28 clash played on Saturday.

The Bavarian giants raced into a 5-0 lead in the first half through goals from Robert Lewandowski (2), Frank Ribery, Thomas Mueller and James Rodriguez before the aforementioned Lewandowski wrapped up the win with his hattrick in the second half.

Schalke 04, in second place, ensured that Jupp Heynckes’ side will need one win to secure the title following a 2-0 win over 10-man Freiburg at home.

Daniel Caligiuri (penalty) and Guido Burgstaller scored in the second half to give Schalke three important points against a Freiburg side that finished the game with 10 men after Nils Petersen was sent off for two yellow cards.
