Arsenal Midfielder Maitland-Niles Ruled Out For Six To Eight Weeks

Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a minor leg fracture.

He sustained the injury during the new season’s Premier League opener against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The extent of his injury was revealed by the Gunners on Thursday morning.

The North London club said: “Ainsley has sustained a small fracture to his left fibula and will be out for six to eight weeks.”

He’s expected to return to training in October.

The former Premier League champions also disclosed that English international defender Carl Jenkinson will also sit out the next six to eight weeks with a right ankle sprain.

“Carl has sustained a significant sprain to his right ankle and will be out for six to eight weeks.” The club said.
