Akpom Bags 9th Goal Of Season As 3rd Division Club Knock Ajax Out Of Dutch Cup

Chuba Akpom was on target for Ajax who lost 3-2 away to third division side USV Hercules in the second round of the Dutch Cup on Thursday night.

It was Akpom’s ninth goal in all competitions for Ajax since joining them in the summer.

The former Arsenal striker scored in the 89th minute to complete Ajax’s comeback from 2-0 down.

However, USV Hercules bagged a 93rd minute goal to eliminate the Netherlands giants.

Ajax are the most successful club in the history of the Dutch Cup with 20 titles.

The last time Ajax won the Cup was in 2021 when they edged Vitesse 2-1 in the final.
