B/Ball: Bulls, Hoopers Battle For BAL Ticket

Gombe Bulls dispatched Kano Pillars 79-67 in the last four of the Federal Ministry of Youth & Sports Development (FMYSD) Final 8 to set up a final against three-time reigning champions Rivers Hoopers.

Four players finished with double digits for the Bulls who entered the interval with a six-point cushion that they never looked in danger of relinquishing in a dominant display in the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

Bulls will play favourites Hoopers for the title on Tuesday after the Port Harcourt based side came out on top 85-76 in a tightly contested affair against Nigeria Customs in the first semi-final.

Owen Oriakhi led the way for Hoopers in the decider with 24 points and 3 rebounds. Customs’ Usman Alhaji scored a game-high 25 points with 9 rebounds.

The winners of Tuesday’s final will seal the ticket to represent Nigeria at the 2021-22 Basketball Africa League.
