English Championship Latest: Cardiff Produce Late Comeback To Maintain PL Football Push

Welsh side Cardiff City maintained their push for Premier League football next season after they scored two goals in the last seven minutes to earn a 2-2 draw at Reading.

Their hosts had taken a 2-0 lead at the interval through goals from Callum Paterson (own goal) and Mo Barrow before the late comeback denied Reading a win.

Joe Bennett pulled one back for Neil Warnock’s men seven minutes from time before Lee Tomlin snatched an equaliser on the stroke of fulltime.

The draw ensures that Cardiff City in 2nd place (44 points) move within four points of leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers while Reading move up to 14th with 27 points despite the late setback they suffered.

Note: Top two teams will secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.
