‘We Have A Good Team’ — Lookman Backs Atalanta To Cope With AFCON Absence

Ademola Lookman insists Atalanta will do well in his absence during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Lookman will link up with the Super Eagles in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday as the three-time African champions kick-start their preparations for the AFCON 2023.

The winger handed La Dea a good parting gift, netting the winning goal in their 1-0 victory against Leece on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old believed Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have enough quality to cope with his absence.

“We have a good team, with strong players,” he was quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.

“I will go to the African Cup but my teammates will do an excellent job, I have faith in them. Will I miss Bergamo? Yes, I can’t wait to come back here.”
