Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named the Ligue 1 player of the month for September after registering two goals and two assists in four league matches for Lille.
The 20-year old beat off competition from Algerian forward Islam Slimani who plays for AS Monaco and Nante’s Nicola Pallois to win the award voted for by fans.
Osimhen, was on target in the 2-1 win against Angers SCO and the 2-0 victory over Strasbourg at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
The striker has enjoyed a blistering start to life with the Great Danes, scoring eight times in eleven appearances in all competitions and winning the club’s player of the month award back to back.
He’s the league’s top score with seven goals in nine appearances and has scored in all of Lille’s home games at the Stade Pierre Mauroy where they’re unbeaten in the league this season.
Osimhen would look to continue his goalscoring run for Christophe Galtier’s side when they take on Toulouse this weekend.
