VAR Decisions To Be On Big Screens During Arsenal-Chelsea Carabao Cup Clash

Fans will be notified of VAR calls on the big screens at the Emirates Stadium should It be required during the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg clash between Arsenal and Chelsea.

The EFL have supplied the North London side with Carabao branded graphics to be shown on the two big screens inside the stadium whenever VAR is called upon.

The latest development is in a bid to avoid the confusion witnessed by supporters in the first leg at Stamford Bridge following the request of centre referee Martin Atkinson for a video review when Cesc Fabregas appealed for a penalty as a result of a challenge by Danny Welbeck in the dying moments of the game.

In another change ahead of Wednesday night’s London Derby clash, television viewers will be able to hear the decision-making process from VAR and see exactly what the extra official is watching.
