Mascherano Is Off To China! Argentine Star Signs For Hebei Fortune

Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano has signed for Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune after seven-and-half years at Barcelona.

Mascherano, 33, joined the Spanish giants from Liverpool in 2010 for £17m before winning 18 trophies at the club, including four La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues.

In total, the former River Plate, Corinthians and West Ham United star made 334 appearances for Barcelona without scoring any goal.

He is expected to officially leave the club on Friday, January 26.

Former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is presently in charge of Hebei China Fortune having being named manager since August 2016.

Mascherano will team up with compatriot and former international teammate Ezequiel Lavezzi at his new club.

Barcelona president and players are expected to attend a farewell ceremony for Mascherano on Wednesday.
