UEL Review: Leipzig, Atletico, Others Secure Last 16 Spots

German side RB Leipzig are through to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League (UEL) after they held on to see off favourites and Italian giants Napoli in their round of 32 tie.

Leipzig had won the away leg 3-1 before goals either side of halftime from Piotr Zelinski and Lorenzo Insigne threatened qualification but the Germans held on to pull through on away goals.

Favourites Atletico Madrid are also through to the next round after a 5-1 aggregate win over Danish side FC Copenhagen following a 1-0 win at the new Wanda Metropolitano in the second leg.

Lazio and Zenit St. Petersburg have booked their spots in the last 16 as well after comeback wins over Steaua Bucharest and Celtic respectively.

Italian international forward Ciro Immobile scored four goals to help his Lazio side thrash Steaua Bucharest 5-1 for an overall aggregate of 5-2 while Zenit defeated Celtic 3-0 for a 3-1 aggregate victory over their Scottish opponents.
