Manchester United Hold On Against Liverpool To Cement Second Spot

Manchester United have cemented second spot behind Premier League leaders Manchester City after they held on to beat traditional rivals Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford in their Matchday 30 clash.

Marcus Rashford was the hero for the hosts as he netted a first half brace to edge his side 2-0 ahead before an own goal from Eric Bailly in the second half halved the deficit to setup a grandstand finish but the Red Devils held on to claim the maximum points.

The win ensures that Manchester United cement second place with 65 points ahead Liverpool (60 points) though they are still 13 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City (78 points).
