Third Bundesliga Manager Loses Job

A third manager in the German Bundesliga has lost his job after Werder Bremen sacked Alex Nouri.

His last game in charge turned out to be the disappointing 3-0 loss to Augsburg on Sunday.

The club’s U23 coach Florian Kohfeldt will oversee first team affairs for Friday’s league match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Alex Nouri was appointed manager in October 2016 and thereafter led the club from the relegation zone to 8th position at the end of the season.

His departure follows the dismissal of Andries Jonker (Wolfsburg) and Carlo Ancelotti (Bayern Munich).

Speaking about the sack, Bremen CEO Klaus Filbry said: “Alex took over during a very difficult situation last year and successfully mastered it. For that we’d like to thank him.”

Werder Bremen have only scored 3 goals this season and are winless this season. They are second bottom on the league table as a result.
