Super Eagles Star Omeruo Denies Gent Move

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has dismissed widespread rumours that he would leave Chelsea for Belgian top flight side KAA Gent during this summer’s transfer window.

The 24-year-old made this known while he was talking about his club future in a chat with SCORENigeria.

The Chelsea centre back has already spent time on loan away from the club on five occasions but his displays during the Super Eagles’ games at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia has boosted hopes of him having the chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.

He was instrumental in Nigeria’s first and only victory against Iceland but he couldn’t do much about the Argentina loss which eliminated the team from Group D.

In his words, Omeruo said: “At the moment, I have not decided where I will be playing next season as I still need to speak to Chelsea, so any news right now about an agreement with any club is not true.”

My agents are in talks with several clubs in the event my future lies away from Stamford Bridge.” He added.
