Serie A Review: Napoli Slip Up To Hand Juventus Title

Juventus have all but retained the Italian Serie A title after their nearest challengers Napoli could only manage to record a 2-2 draw at home to Torino in their Matchday 36 clash when a win was non-negotiable.

Dries Mertens’ first half opener for Napoli was cancelled out by Daniele Baselli ten minutes into the second half only for the hosts to regain the lead through Marek Hamsik.

Torino, however, battled for a share of the spoil with Lorenzo De Silvestre getting a second equaliser with seven minutes left on the clock.

The point recorded took Napoli to 85 points and six points adrift of league leaders Juventus (91 points) with two league games left and an inferior goal difference in comparison with the Old Lady.
