V/ball Super Cup: Kano Pillars Boss Babamusa Sets Sight On Trophy After COAS Spikers Demolition

Kano Pillars VC coach Musa Babamusa declared his intention to win the trophy following his side’s ruthlessly efficient performance in the 3-0 (25-19, 31-29, 25-19) pillaging of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Spikers on Day 3 of the Nigeria Volleyball Super Cup.

Speaking after his side’s win, Babamusa declared his team are in the competition which is taking place at the Indoor Sports hall of the University of Ilorin for “one reason and it is to win lift the trophy”.

“I came to the Super Cup for one reason and it is to win lift the trophy,” Babamusa said.

“Last year, we did great in the second leg beating Police, Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) but we unfortunately lost to Customs which dent our title race. This time around, we will give it all it takes to perform well.”

The Pillars boss said his instruction to his wards was to ensure a win over COAS Spikers and expressed his satisfaction they achieved their objective.

“The assignment I gave my boys was simple: ‘go out and beat COAS Spikers’. The second set of the game was very tough because COAS led us till the 23 points but I believed in the capacity of my players and they turned the game around,” Musa said.
