Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) leaders Lobi Stars have extended their lead at the top of the table to five points after they defeated struggling Akure outfit Sunshine Stars 1-0 at home in a Matchday 20 clash.

The only goal of the game on 73 minutes via an own goal from Sunshine Stars goalkeeper Kehinde Adeyemi.

The win takes Lobi Stars to 37 points and five points ahead of nearest challengers Kano Pillars who picked up an impressive 1-1 draw at basement club Heartland FC of Owerri.

Former league champions Enugu Rangers also recorded a creditable 1-1 draw at Wikki Tourists while Abia Warriors forced their hosts Rivers United to a goalless draw.
