Serie A Review: Inter Up To Third After Victory Over Lowly Benevento

Inter Milan have boosted their hopes of finishing inside the top four after they scored two second half goals to beat lowly Benevento 2-0 in a Matchday 26 clash played at the San Siro on Saturday evening.

Defenders Milan Skiriniar and Andrea Rannochia scored within three second half minutes to propel his team to just a second league win of 2018 thereby boosting their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) next season.

With the win, the Nerazurris (51 points) climb above Lazio (49 points) and AS Roma into 3rd place while Benevento (10 points) stay rooted to the bottom with the lowly outfit 11 points from safety.

In the other game played on Saturday, Mattia Destro and Cesar Falletti scored in the second half to give Bologna a 2-0 home victory over Genoa thereby moving above their opponents and two places from 13th to 11th spot with 33 points.

Genoa, on the other hand, drop one place from 12th to 13th position with 30 points from the 26 league games played this season.
