Salah wins champions league player of the week award

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been voted Champions League Player Of The Week for Match Day 3; beating the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar to the award.

Salah picked up 51% of the total votes to finish first ahead of Besiktas’ Cenk Tosun (33%) in 2nd and Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes (7%) in 3rd place.

The Egyptian scored twice and assisted another goal in Liverpool’s record equalling 7-0 win away at Maribor.

It’s the second time the 25 year-old is picking up the award, after scooping it on Match day 1. Salah, enjoying an unstoppable start to his Liverpool career was also named Liverpool Player Of The Month for August and September.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reserved high praises for Salah:

“A fantastic job by the scouting department. A fantastic boy. I don’t think he needed half an hour to settle in the team.”
