River Plate become Favourites to win Club World Cup

On Sunday night, River Plate were proclaimed Copa Libertadores champion giving them the opportunity of going into the Club World Cup finals to be held in Abu Dhabi between December 12 and 22.

The Argentine team becomes the big favourite on its side of the draw while on the other side, although Real Madrid seem destined to make the final that will be played on December 22.

Real Madrid head straight into the semifinal to play the winner of the quarterfinal match between Kashima Antlers and Chivas Guadalajara, who will play on December 15 in Al Ain.

River, as champion of the Libertadores, will face the winner of the Esperance de Tunis v Al Ain/Wellington match.

Los Blancos who have a poor run of form will look to win a record fourth Club World Cup title while the Argentine side will want to make an impressive outing at the final should they clash with Madrid.
