Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020: Angels Stop Shooters, Niger United Still Winless

Adorable Angels produced an entertaining display of handball to stop the progression of defending champions Safety Shooters on Matchday 6 of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020.

In a dramatic match decided on the outdoor handball court at the MKO Abiola National Stadium on Friday, Adorable Angels played out a 31-31draw with co-leaders Safety Shooters.

In other matches in the women’s category, Defender Babes comfortably defeated Desert Queens 32-19 while Kada Queens stunned former champions Plateau Peacocks 27-18.

Joint leaders Edo Dynamos defeated Benue Queens 30-27 and Seasiders Babes led the standings on Matchday 5 dropped down to 6th after they were soundly defeated by Imo Grasshoppers 31-21.

In the men’s category, Lagos Seasiders defeated Delta Force 30-25 while Safety Shooters outshot COAS Shooters 34-22 and defending champions Kano Pillars annihilated Kada Stars 36-22.

In other games, Borno Spiders edged Plateau Vipers 23-22, Rima Strikers, buoyed by the presence of the Sokoto State Commissioner for Sports Bashiru Usman Gorau, ensured Niger United remained without a win with a 24-21 victory while an enterprising Confluence Stars defeated De Defenders 21-18
