The introduction of Video Assistant Referees (VAR) technology to Premier League football will have to wait after clubs voted against its use for the 2018/19 season (next season).

VAR has been trialled in the cup competitions with little success and that has undoubtedly played a major role in be decision taken.

The Premier League, however, confirmed that it will continue only testing VAR next season and seeks “improvements” in “communication” of process to fans & viewers.

VAR is already a big part of other major leagues like the Italian Serie A and the German Bundesliga.
