Onyekuru Inspires Galatasaray Victory

Henry Onyekuru scored twice as Galatasaray grabbed a 3-0 win against Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.

In what was his 11th league appearance of the season, the forward made a massive impact on his side and helped them move up to 3rd place on the log.

The Nigerian international scored the opener  on 18 minutes, tucking in a rebound after the goalkeeper had palmed towards him Sofiane Feghouli’s strike.

Onyekuru grabbed his brace in the 74th minute when he calmly controlled Selcuk Inan’s timed through pass, held off a Kayserispor defender and beat the goalkeeper with a beautiful strike from about eight yards to make it 2-0 for Galatasaray.

Omar Bayram added the icing on the cake with another strike in the 88th minute, courtesy of an assist from Mariano.

Onyekuru who replaced Ighalo in the Super Eagles squad to play South Africa in a 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier, after the latter suffered a hamstring injury, now has four goals in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Lions.
