OFFICIAL: Orban Makes Historic Transfer To Olympique Lyon

Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyon have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Gift Orban who joined the French club from Gent.

Lyon officially announced the signing on their X handle on Thursday night.

It is an historic signing for Orban as he becomes the first-ever Nigerian to join Lyon.

It is believed the contract is worth €13m and is valid until June 2028.

The transfer fee could rise to €20 million with add-ons, and a 20% sell-on clause.

“First player from Nigeria to wear our colors,” the club announced.

“Welcome Gift.”

Orban only joined Belgian club Gent on 31 January 2023, and scored 15 goals in 16 league appearances.

The 21-year-old would have to hit the ground running as he will join a club currently struggling
