Samad Kadiri’s 53rd-minute penalty was the difference as Enyimba edged Abia Warriors in a tight Abia Derby on Tuesday.

Kadiri scored from the spot after the referee penalised a handball in the box.

The win ensures a winning start to the 2020-21 Nigeria Professional Football League season for Enyimba who face elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup after a 3-0 loss to Sudan’s Al Merrikh in the first leg of their first round tie.
