NPFL: Anaezemba Targets Goalscoring Return To Aba (AUDIO)

Abia Warriors midfielder Nzube Anaezemba says he is excited to face former club Enyimba, adding that his target is to score against the record 8-time league champions in Aba on Tuesday.

Enyimba will play host to sister-club Abia Warriors in their opening match of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on Tuesday, with both sides poised for their first victory of the campaign.

Anaezemba, who spent five years at Enyimba from 2011 to 2016, helping the 2-time African champions win the 2015 NPFL, told www.busybuddiesng.com his new club Abia Warriors are in Aba for victory.

“First and foremost, I am very, very happy for the commencement of the league,” the 27-year-old former Kano Pillars and Rivers United player said.

“And I believe coming to Aba to play (against) my former team (Enyimba) is always an exciting game for me.

“Come tomorrow (Tuesday), Abia Warriors versus Enyimba, my target here in Aba, collectively, we want to win and individually, I want to score against my former team. That’s my target.”

Enyimba already showed what Tuesday’s clash could look like after beating Abia Warriors 1-0 in the final of the 2nd Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu pre-season tournament in Aba last month.
