El-Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper Itodo AKor has revealed a target of keeping 13 clean sheets in the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season which began on Sunday.
The former Rangers and Yobe Desert Stars shot-stopper was in goal as El-Kanemi Warriors shocked hosts Akwa United 1-0 in Uyo yesterday, with substitute Ba’akaka Ajikolo scoring the winner in added time, capitalizing on a blunder by Olorunleke Ojo.
“Last season I played for Yobe Desert Stars where I kept a lot of clean sheets,” Akor informed.
“Before this game (against Akwa United) my wife called me and was like ‘hey, the season is about to start, what is your target?’ And I was like ‘baby, all I need is 13 clean sheets’.
“By the grace of God, the target has just started.”
