NPFL: Abia Warriors Bound for Defeat in Uyo Dare Ojo Boasts (AUDIO)

Akwa United Midfielder Dare Ojo is confident that Abia Warriors will fall in Uyo in their rescheduled Matchday 2 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture at the main bowl of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The former Lobi Stars attacking midfielder moved from Benue to join the Promise Keepers at the start of the 2019/2020 season.

The rescheduled fixture which was meant to hold on Sunday was shifted to Thursday to allow the Super Eagles have a perfect pitch for their Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against the Benin Republic.

The Uyo based side held Warri Wolves to a draw away from home in their opening fixture of the season and Dare believes his team are out to consolidate on that performance by beating the Umuahia based side.

“Our first match was against Warri Wolves. We played 1 – 1. We are coming home now to consolidate and ensure that we go out and take all three points. We’ve worked very hard all through this week. It’s not that easy, all we have to do now is to get the 3 points to consolidate at home,” he said.

Last season, Abia Warriors held the 2017 Aiteo Cup Champions in front of home fans and though Dare believes the Umuahia Boys might be motivated by that record, he was, however, upbeat about his team’s ability to floor the visitors.

“Definitely they are coming with a mission but they are coming here to lose” Dare boasted.

“By the special grace of God, we are getting our three points.”

The match is scheduled to kick off by 4pm.
