Nigeria’s David Okereke has won the Italian Serie B Red Bull B-Best award, the contest organized in collaboration by Red Bull and La Gazzetta dello Sport, which rewards players in the Italian second division in 5 categories; Charisma, Courage, Genius, Extra-Time and Energy which he won.

Okereke gave a fantastic performance for La Spezia when he scored his team’s equalizer against Brescia with only about 18 seconds left on the clock to put the score at 4-4.

He was brought down in the box after almost rounding Andrenacci to win a penalty which he slotted in with the slightest of ease.

The 21-year-old’s energy and passion has seen him fall on the radar of European sides like Standard Liege, Feyenoord, Premier League side Crystal Palace and even Seria A giants Juventus.  

The Jewel of La Spezia, as he is fondly called, is the club’s highest goal scorer having 6 goals and 7 assists from 16 games.

After ending last season on loan at Cosenza, scoring several important goals and contributing to the Calabrian club’s promotion to the Serie B, he returned to Spezia unleashed as never before, scoring his former team in a 4-0 victory to take them top of the log as at December 8th.
