NFF Appoint Eguavoen As New Technical Director

Former Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguaveon has been announced as the new Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation.

The decision was among a number of resolutions reached at a virtual meeting of the NFF Executive Committee on Tuesday.

The statement announcing Eguavoen’s appointment stated the ex-international will work with former U20 national team coach Paul Aigbogun (Deputy Director, Technical & Scouting); Terry Babatunde Eguaoje (Consultant on Coaching & Development); Abdulrafiu Yusuf (Assistant Director, Coaching & Development); Siji Lagunju (Assistant Director, Training & Development) and former Super Eagles midfielder Garba Lawal (Chief Technical Officer).

The appointments are with immediate effect.

In addition to coaching the U17 and U23 national teams, Eguavoen also coached the senior national team, the Super Eagles across two spells.

As a player, he was an integral part of the squad that won the country’s second AFCON title in 1994 and played in Nigeria’s first ever FIFA World Cup at USA 1994.
