Mexico Make Light Work Of Inexperienced Super Eagles

Nigeria’s youthful and inexperienced Super Eagles came against short Mexico, losing 4-0 in a friendly at the Los Angeles Coliseum in the early hours of Sunday.

The three time African champions fielded a team of predominantly Nigeria Professional Football League, many of whom were earning their first caps and the inexperience was evident as Gold Cup champions Mexico dominated proceedings.

It was just two minutes on the clock when Héctor Herrera breached Nigeria’s back line and it was 2-0 just two minutes later as Rogelio Funes Mori profited off poor defending to double the North Americans’ lead.

The Super Eagles stemmed the tide thereafter but were 3-0 down after the break as Herrera grabbed his second before Jonathan Dos Santos added another to complete a chastening night for Nigeria.
