Liverpool Strengthen Top Four Bid With Late Burnley Win

Liverpool have strengthened their place in the top four after a late Ragnar Klavan goal handed the Reds a 2-1 win at Burnley in their Premier League clash.

After a goalless first half, Senegal international forward Sadio Mane shot Liverpool into the lead with a stunning strike before Burnley winger Berg Gudmundson equalised for the home side thus paving the way for Klavan to strike in added time.

The late win was enough to move Liverpool up to 44 points and level with the third-placed team, Manchester United while the Anfield giants also significantly move six points clear of Arsenal in fifth place.

In the pick of the other games, Ayoze Perez scored the only goal of the game as his Newcastle United side defeated hosts Stoke City 1-0 to further pile more pressure on manager Mark Hughes.
