Liverpool Edge Leicester City In Five-Goal Thriller

Liverpool kept in touch with the leading pack in the English Premier League (EPL) after they defeated hosts Leicester City 3-2 in a thrilling contest at the King Power Stadium.

The Reds had lost their last three games at the Stadium including their 2-0 midweek loss in the Carabao Cup but that didn’t stop Jurgen Klopp’s side from racing to a 2-0 lead courtesy Mohamed Salah and a superb Philippe Coutinho freekick.

The home team however found a route back into the game on the stroke of halftime through Shinji Okazaki following some dodgy defending from the visitors. Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson added a third goal for his side before Jamie Vardy pulled a goal back for the immediate past EPL champions with 21 minutes left on the clock.

Vardy was thereafter given a fantastic chance to get his brace and pull his side level to 3-3 but his penalty was saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet who atoned for his mistake in conceding the penalty in the first place.

The win takes Liverpool to 5th position on the log with 11 points from 6 games with the team now five points off the league summit.
