Ligue 1: Lyon Inflict Third Straight Defeat On Simon’s Nantes

Super Eagles forward Moses Simon was in action but could not help Nantes avoid a 1-0 defeat at Lyon in Ligue 1 on Wednesday.

Simon played for 90 minutes as Nantes suffered their third consecutive defeat.

Former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette got the only goal of the game in the 49th minute.

Lyon played the last six minutes of the game with 10 players following a straight red card issued to former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.

Nantes are now in 13 spot on 18 points and are six points away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Nantes will not play again until 5th January 2024 when they will be guests to PAU in the French Cup.
