Dessers Scores 9th Goal Of Season As Rangers Defeat St. Johnstone To Close Gap On Celtic

Cyriel Dessers was on target for Rangers who defeated St. Johnstone 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

The win means Rangers, on 40 points, are now just two points behind leaders Celtic in the 12-team league table.

Dessers got on the score sheet in the 28th minute to put Rangers 1-0 ahead.

The 29-year-old has taken his tally in all competitions to nine for Rangers this season (he has six goals in 14 league appearances).

Skipper, James Tavernier, converted an 84th minute penalty to double Rangers’ lead.

Dessers has scored three goals in his last four games for the Scottish giants.

He helped Rangers lift the Scottish League Cup at the weekend after a 1-0 win against Aberdeen.

Also, he was included in the Super Eagles 40-man provisional squad for AFCON 2023.
