Nigeria will play hosts Cameroon in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Africa Handball Championship on Tuesday.

Nigeria made the last eight as one of two group stage best losers after they beat Kenya 26-21 to finish in third place in Group B.

Rafiu Salami’s side had lost their first two matches against DR Congo and Cameroon.

A win against Cameroon will see Nigeria make the semifinals for the first time since 1992 and also see them secure a spot in the World Handball Championship in Spain.
