Rugby League: NRLA To Kickoff Lagos School Rugby League

The Nigeria Rugby League Association has kicked off the Lagos School Rugby League tournament.

The tournament organised under the auspices of the NRLA Youth Outreach Program and facilitated by Lagos Haven Rugby League Football Club is part of the larger iTry/NRLA youth development plan.

Three schools, Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School, Caro Favoured College and Toyibat High School will compete on the opening day of the inaugural tournament which commences on Wednesday 23 June 2021.

“Lagos Haven RLFC is proud to announce the commencement of Lagos Schools Rugby League,” general coach Samson Okeowo who will oversee the players said.

“This is a huge step in cementing Rugby League as a sport of choice in Nigeria and will ensure future development of the game. Lagos Haven would like to thank Africa Plus Partners (APP) our sponsors for making this possible.

“NRLA wishes all the schools the best of luck and is so proud to have these schools involved. NRLA encourages all clubs to follow suit and adopt schools into the Program as soon as possible.”
