Halilovic Strikes Late To Condemn Malaga To La Liga Bottom Spot As Eagles Trio Etebo, Ideye And Success Make Debuts

Croatian international midfielder Alen Halilovic struck on the stroke of the final whistle to hand his Las Palmas side three valuable points with a 1-0 win in the battle of the bottom two teams in the Spanish La Liga.

Halilovic, who is on loan from German Bundlesliga side Hamburg, came on as a substitute for Carles Gil in the second half before netting the winner just before the end of the game which saw three Super Eagles stars namely Oghenekaro Etebo, Brown Ideye and Isaac Success make their debuts.

Etebo and Ideye played the entire duration of the game for Las Palmas and Malaga respectively while Success was introduced in the second half for Malaga midfielder Samuel Garcia.

The win takes Las Palmas (17 points) to within three points of safety though they are still second from bottom while Malaga (13 points) are rooted to the bottom and seven points from safety.
