German Bundesliga Review (Saturday): Bayern Move Three Points Clear After Shock Dortmund Defeat

German champions Bayern Munich have moved three points clear at the top of the table after they defeated 10-man RB Leipzig 2-0 at the Allianz Arena.

Leipzig’s German defender Willi Orban received an early dismissal and that set the tone for a comfortable win for Bayern Munich courtesy a pair of first half goals from James Rodriguez and Robert Lewandowski.

Former leaders Borussia Dortmund have been leapfrogged by rivals Bayern after they suffered a surprising 4-2 loss to impressive outfit Hannover 96. The Signa Iduna Park outfit played a big part of the game with 10 men after young French centre back Dan Axel Zagadou was sent off after he had registered his name on the scoresheet.

Togolese forward Ilhas Bebou duly took advantage of the situation to emerge as hero for Hannover 96 after scoring a brace to inspire a win that has elevated the lowly German team into the top four.
