Gabriel Jesus Extends Manchester City Contract

Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus has signed a contract extension at Premier League champions Manchester City until 2023.

The 21-year-old joined the Citizens from Brazilian Serie A outfit Palmeiras in January 2017 and has since become an important squad member.

He scored seven goals in 11 games before the end of the 2017/18 season and added a further 17 goals last season to help the club win both the Premier League and Carabao Cup titles.

On signing the new contract, Jesus described joining Manchester City as the “best decision I’ve made in my life”.

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: “Gabriel is undoubtedly one of the best young forwards in world football.”

Gabriel Jesus was part of the Brazilian squad that reached the quarterfinals at the just concluded FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
