The head coach of Federal Road Safety Corp Football Club (FRSC FC) of Abuja, Akinade Onigbinde has drummed up support for adequate funding of sports clubs in the country.

Onigbinde said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday as he pointed out that lack of adequate funding contributes immensely to the stunted growth associated with Nigerian Sports.

In his words, he said: “Some of our clubs even travel by road to far away countries for matches.”

“And some even squat with others in hotels because of poor funding for accommodation.”

Akinade Onigbinde further urged the Federal Government to provide financial support to clubs especially those representing the nation in continental and international engagements.
