FA Cup: Manchester United’s 58-Match Run Ended

Manchester United’s 58-match run in the FA Cup has come to an end after they were surprisingly omitted from the third-round games selected for broadcast.

The Red Devils have been paired with English Championship side Derby County in the third round.

The run is dating back to the unexpected goalless draw with non-league side Exeter City at Old Trafford in 2004, which was the start of the defence of United’s FA Cup title (2003/04l) but it was not televised.

The televised matches for the third round include Liverpool vs. Everton (Friday night), Fleetwood Town or Hereford vs. Leicester City (Saturday lunchtime), Norwich City vs. Chelsea (Saturday teatime), Shrewsbury Town vs. West Ham United (Sunday), Nottingham Forest vs. Arsenal and Brighton vs. Crystal Palace (Monday evening).
