Espanyol are on the up in the Spanish La Liga after they defeated newly promoted outfit Getafe 1-0 at home in their matchweek 13 clash.

Striker Gerard Moreno was the hero for the Catalan outfit as he netted 10 minutes into the second half to hand Quique Sanchez Flores’ men vital three points to steer the club away from the relegation picture.

The win takes Espanol from 16th to 13th with 16 points from the 13 league games played so far while Getafe stay just above their opponents in 12th position though both sides have the same number of points.
