Dutch Star Hints At Premier League Exit After ‘Messy’ Transfer Saga

Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk has hinted at a move away from the English Premier League (EPL) when the transfer windows reopens in January.

The 26-year old Dutch centre back was involved in a messy summer transfer saga involving him, Liverpool and Southampton. His desire to leave the Saints was even more clearer after he submitted a transfer request in August.

Southampton were however unperturbed with his transfer request as the club maintained its stance that the former Celtic of Scotland player was not for sale.

Speaking on his current situation, van Dijk said: “Halfway through the season, maybe we can see what’s possible.”

“I wanted to go one step up, but eventually Southampton did not want to let me go.

“You’re a professional, so now I’ll give everything to the club.” he further added.
