Double Double! Aribo Bags Two Awards At Rangers

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo raked in two awards at Rangers’ Player of the Year awards on Friday taking home the Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards.

Aribo, 24, joined the Gers from English Championship side Charlton last summer and quickly became an integral part of Steven Gerrard’s team that finished second behind city rivals Celtic last season.

He made 48 appearances in all competitions in his debut season scoring nine times and weighing in with eight assists.

One of those goals was an exquisitely virtuoso effort in a crunch Europa League tie against Braga at Ibrox that helped Rangers come from behind to progress to the Last 16.

That strike has now been adjudged the best for the club last season and Aribo’s outstanding performances has seen him scoop the Young Player of the Year gong.

The midfielder who has two goals in four caps for Nigeria, will hope to continue in the same vein for the Gers as they get set to kick off their 2020-21 Scottish Premiership season away at Aberdeen this weekend.
