David Obiazo Unfazed By Competition At Pillars

Kano Pillars goalkeeper David Obiazo is relishing the competition to be club’s first-choice.

Obiazo is the former league champions’ number one goalkeeper but he faces competition for his spot from other shot stoppers like Danladi Isa and Yusuf Mohammed.

He was speaking in a chat with footballlive.ng.

In his words, Obiazo, who has been the first-choice goalkeeper for three years said: “It is important to have quality in goal. Danladi Isa brings in that quality. He is a top keeper with experience.”

“Given that Yusuf Mohammed is a top keeper, we must also ensure that we up our game so that we get equal consideration when the first team is named.

“We support each other. Isa is a good friend and same as Yusuf. Our mission is to help Pillars win more trophies so whoever gets the coach’s backing for a game will always get our support.” He concluded.

Obiazo vowed to continue to work hard at the Kano-based outfit.

He said: “I know its not going to be easy to play for a big club like Pillars. I will give my best every other time I am given a chance.”

David Obiazo and his teammates have led Kano Pillars to third spot in the race for the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title.

Kano Pillars have 38 points from 24 games and are three points behind Akwa United in second place and five points behind leaders Lobi Stars.
