Enyimba claimed a hard-fought come-from-behind victory over Algerian side ES Setif in the Confederation Cup to climb to the top of Group A on Sunday.
The Aba Elephants ran out 2-1 winners in Aba thanks to goals from Austin Oladapo and Tosin Omoyele’s winner after Monsef Bakrar had given the visitors a 13th minute lead.
Oladapo fluffed the chance to draw Fatai Osho’s level from the spot but made amends with a long range effort five minutes before the interval to send both teams into the break on level terms.
Omoyele then made sure of the three points with the winner on the hour mark to leave Setif without a win and bottom of the group after three games.
Enyimba go top with six points, two more points than Orlando Pirates who travel to Al-Ahli Benghazi in the group’s other fixture.
