CAF CC: Rangers Get ASC Kara, Enyimba To Play TS Galaxy in Playoff Round

Nigeria’s representatives in the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup Enugu Rangers and Enyimba were handed relatively straightforward opposition in the playoff round after they were paired with Togolese champions ASC Kara and South African first division side TS Galaxy in draws held moments ago in Cairo.

Nigerian champions Enyimba who dropped into Africa’s second-tier club competition after they were knocked out of Champions League reckoning by Al Hilal Omdurman are at home in the first leg against TS Galaxy.

Galaxy, who beat powerhouses Kaizer Chiefs to win the Nedbank Cup in May are the first South African first division team to feature in the competition.

They qualified for the playoff round after a 4-1 aggregate victory over CNapS Sport of Madagascar.

Enugu Rangers who beat AS Pelicans in the previous round will travel to Togolese champions ASC Kara in the first leg of their encounter.

ASC Kara dropped into the competition following elimination from the Champions League by Congolese side AS Vita Club.

The first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Playoff round has been scheduled for 27 October with the return leg holding on 3 November.

Winners on aggregate will progress to the group stage of the competition.
