Enugu Rangers beat AS Pelicans of Gabon 3-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday to progress to the final qualifying round of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) 4-3 on aggregate.

Ifeanyi George, Egbujuo Nnamdi and Ibrahim Olawoyin all scored to settle the tie after AS Pelican rattled the nerves of the home side by taking an early lead in the 5th minute.

Trailing 2-1 from the first leg at the Stade D’Angondje in Libreville a fortnight ago, Rangers who were drawn a bye in the preliminary round, found themselves staring elimination in the face after Dertin Amores put Pelicans further ahead with an early goal to go 3-1 up on aggregate.

But the Flying Antelopes reacted positively to going behind and were level thirteen minutes later through Ifeanyi George.

Ebgujuo Nnamdi who got Rangers’ away goal in the first leg then levelled the tie on aggregate in the 50th minute before Ibrahim Olawoyin made things secure six minutes later with the goal that ensured progress for Benedict Ugwu’s side.
