Burnley Complete Vydra Transfer From Derby

Premier League outfit Burnley have signed Czech Republic striker Matej Vydra from Derby County.

Vydra, 26, joins the Lancashire outfit from the Championship side after putting pen to paper on an initial three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

His contract has an option of another year.

Matej Vydra is the club’s third signing of the summer after the English duo of defender Ben Gibson and goalkeeper Joe Hart.

He joined the Rams for a club-record fee of £8m in 2016 and went on to score 21 goals in 40 appearances thus leading Derby County to sixth place and the Championship Playoffs.

On his new career choice, he said: “For the last four years I have been fighting to be in the Premier League.”

“I haven’t done it with the teams I was playing for and sometimes it has to be done with a transfer and now I’m so happy.” He concluded.
