Barcelona Re-sign Dani Alves

Barcelona have announced a short-term deal to re-sign to Dani Alves.

The right-back will join the first team from January 2022 until the end of the season.

The club have confirmed the Brazil international will start training next week.

Alves returns to the Spanish club as a free agent having left Brazilian club Sao Paulo in September.

The 38-year-old spent eight years at Barcelona between 2008 and 2016, making 391 appearances and scoring 23 goals. During that time, he won six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.

In 2015, he helped Barcelona become the first club in history to win the treble twice.

The Brazil international is one of the most decorated players in the history of the game, having collected 41 trophies.

Alves has made 119 appearances for Brazil and won the Tokyo Olympic Games this summer when they beat Spain 2-1. He became the oldest footballer to win a medal in the men’s Olympic football tournament.

Alves left Barcelona in 2016 to join Juventus. Following a two-year spell in which he won the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain before returning to Sao Paolo in 2019.
